Depending on what you fancy you can scale the mountain via a variety of routes or you might choose to take the Untersberg cable car. Once you get to the top, wonderful hiking and walking routes await, as does a unique panoramic view extending from Chiemsee to the Hohe Tauern.

Cross-country skiing around the city of Salzburg

When there is plenty of snow in the winter, the grassy areas in the city become cross-country slopes. Around the hotel guesthouse, the Bloberger Hof, there are also a few prepared cross-country slopes which tempt you to have a go at this popular winter sport.
